The LWV–Salem Affordable Housing Working Group focuses on three priorities:

  • Protecting tenants’ rights

  • Protecting existing affordable housing

  • Creating new affordable housing

We are committed to research in order to develop
well-reasoned, fact-based positions on specific issues.


We regularly attend the meetings of the Board of Commissioners of the Salem Housing Authority (SHA). There’s a lot going on at the SHA, including a new 150-unit development off First Street. We’ve set up a new webpage for our Subcommittee on SHA.
