Created under MGL Ch. 121B, Sec. 4, the Salem Redevelopment Authority (SRA) is a “a public body politic and corporate,” meaning it is a separate entity from the City of Salem. It reviews work to be done in Salem’s designated “urban renewal area,” which Salem’s downtown. The SRA has an advisory Design Review Board. The SRA also reviews signs to be placed downtown.
